How Our Soap is Made:

​

Our soap is created using fresh goat milk and honey from our own animals. High quality butters and oils are added in a hot process method to create a batch. Therapeutic grade essential oils and natural additives are then added and the soap is put into a mold. After 24 hours the soap is unmolded and hand cut. It is then set on a rack to cure for 3-4 weeks. At 4 weeks labeling is added and the soap is ready for purchase.

  We strive to have the safest soap for you and the environment. Though natural some ingredients can have negative side effects.
  
  No Micas:
  
  Micas can have the immediate effect of irritating the eyes and skin, causing redness and itching. Inhaling mica can cause wheezing, coughing and shortness of breath as it irritates the mucous membranes lining the lungs. Side effects are uncommon, but we never take risks with your health. A bigger downside of micas is the mining of it. Most mica mines are in poverty stricken areas where mines have started using child labor and have little to no health, safety, and environmental standards. Though you can source legal mica there is almost always a mixing of illegal (child labor) and legal mica, so it is almost impossible to trace to exact origin. 
  
  No Palm Oil:
  
  Palm oil comes from the fruit on tropical oil palm trees. Producing the edible oil wreaks havoc on the environment, leading to deforestation, habitat degradation, and loss of animal habitat. The World Wildlife Fund estimates that an area about the size of 300 football fields is cleared each hour in tropical rainforests for palm oil production. Deforestation is a significant contributor to climate change; when the forests are lost, carbon is released into the atmosphere, causing global warming. Removing the native forests often requires burning timber and forest undergrowth, putting significant amounts of smoke into the atmosphere. In Indonesia and Malaysia, much of the land is on tropical peat soil. This rich soil sequesters carbon. Clearing the land releases that carbon into the atmosphere, which contributes to climate change. Deforestation causes animals to lose their homes. During the production process, animals are often injured or killed. Orangutans and Sumatran tigers are at risk of extinction and several others species, including the Sumatran rhinoceros, sun bear, and clouded leopard, are also suffering because of palm oil production. Cutting down forests also puts animals at risk of poaching. The World Wildlife Federation reports that the roads built to provide access to vehicles and equipment also provide access for poachers who kill mother orangutans and sell their babies on the illegal wildlife market. Some are sold as pets and others are used in wildlife tourism parks. Animals that wander into villages while fleeing the destruction are often killed.
  
  No Petroleum Based Ingredients:
  
  Some petroleum products are known or potential cancer-causing agents, while others are hormone disruptors . Many contain contaminants and can clog your pores, increasing your risk of acne and blackheads and inhibiting your skin from breathing. When applying products with petroleum your skin absorbs the chemicals, which then gets into your bloodstream. This is dangerous for everyone, but especially children, women who are pregnant, and the developing fetus. Yet another danger of petroleum-derived ingredients is the risk of allergic reactions, including rash, skin irritation, and lesions.
  
  No Lab Made Synthetic Fragrances:
  
  More than 75 percent of products listing the ingredient “fragrance” contained phthalates, which have been shown to disrupt hormone activity, reduce sperm counts, and cause reproductive malformation, and have been linked to liver and breast cancer, diabetes, and obesity. Additionally, studies have linked fetal exposure with autism, ADHD, and neurological disorders.
  
  No Synthetic Colors:
  
  The toxins that artificial colors leave on your skin greatly increase your risk of sensitivity and irritation. They can also block your pores, which leads to a greater risk of acne. Using these products on your skin allows the chemicals to be absorbed into your body and bloodstream, where they can cause even greater damage. Research has found a link between certain artificial colors and cancer in animals. Other dyes are associated with thyroid tumors, allergic reactions, hyperactivity, and kidney tumors.
  
  What is in Our Soap:
  
  The average bar of soap contains 15-20 chemicals. At Natural Days Farm we NEVER use chemicals or ingredients that are unsafe for you or the environment.  All of our bars of goat milk & honey soap are made from scratch using a combination of 7 rigorously tested, all-natural, and mom-approved ingredients. The goat milk and honey is always sourced from our farm and whenever possible we source various botanicals and natural additives (like pumpkin and lavender) as well. We raise all our animals and products naturally never using any chemicals. Our goats are milked daily and treated with the utmost care and respect. Our goats are never treated with antibiotics, steroids, or vaccines. All health management is handled with herbs and the tools mother nature has provided us.  The milk we use is 100% Food Grade that we ourselves drink on a daily basis and we sell to the public via our herd shares.   
  
  Each bar of goat milk & honey soap comes with the ingredients listed on the individual package and is never tested on animals. We proudly make each and every bar of soap from start to finish, ensuring only high-quality ingredients are used.
  
  Why do you use Lye:
  
  Lye, otherwise known as Sodium Hydroxide, is added as a catalyst to saponify the oils and the goat milk. Otherwise, you'd have a liquidy mess, instead of hard bars of soap. This is a completely and totally necessary ingredient in the making of real soap. But, don't be afraid of its name; lye completely dissipates out and neutralizes with the oils and milk during production, so there is nothing left of it in the soap itself.

Our essential oils are 100% natural, 100% pure, 100% organic, undiluted, and often times steam-distilled to obtain the highest levels of purity. All of the essential oils we use are sourced from high-grade botanicals from around the world to ensure that each bar of goat milk soap gives you the highest quality therapeutic and restorative effects as possible.
